Navy Pier
Conceptual Mark Development
Navy Pier is a place of culture, community, and energy. A place with such a vast range of activities is a place you want to be at. This process is tailored to creating a logo with energy and a call to visit.
This direction was inspired by a pin on a map. The pin is used in to mark a “must-see” destination. For Chicago, Navy Pier is one of their hottest attractions no tourist wants to miss out on. Each petal of the design points to a common point which expresses unity, community, and a common center- Navy Pier
The direction presented previously is fleshed out.
These designs focus more on the center of the pins and how it will represent the main attraction.
These designs focus more on the center of the pins and how it will represent Navy Pier as a must-see destination. The Chicago star is put in place of the tilde to symbolize the pier’s importance to Chicago.
Additionally, the type is refined for scaling optimization.
In the smaller scale of the logo, the star is changed to a tilde in order to keep the image looking crisp.
Colors and Typography
Primary Color Palette should be used prominently in all print and digital collateral. These are for general use of the pin when referring to Navy Pier as a whole.
The Secondary Color Palette should be used sparingly so as to not overshadow the Primary Color Palette. These colors may be used as background wallpaper and text fill. Note: these colors MAY NOT be used for the pin unless they are for their specific departments (internal posters only).
